Meridian St Indianapolis, In -Chuck Crist -W9IH; Introduced club officers; Welcomed other ham clubs, New hams & new club members attending our meeting.. Meeting started at 7:30 pm; there were 63 in Attendance Treasurer Report : Tom Chance-K9XVT; collected new membership dues and handed out Current Membership cards. No Finical report was given. Old Business : -This is our 90th year that the club has been in existence and our theme for 2004 is _"Ham Radio is Fun and Teamwork". New Business : -IRC will host a picnic at Joe Lobraico- K9OOA annual Broadripple IN. Hamfest on August 7th (sat), 2004. Hamfest times are 7am-1PM. There are no fees for this Hamfest. Operations / Contest committee: -IRC monthly Longest DX & New QRP longest contact awards will be awarded each month and returned for the following month. Dave- N9KZJ ;chaired this months contest. Winners announced at end of the program; during each Meeting. Education / Youth committee: -Steve-KB9RDS reported on The kids net, they run it and it's just for kids every Sunday night at 5:30 pm on the INDY 146.70 repeater. -Three of our Indy Young hams will be giving a youth forum talk at the Dayton Hamvention this year. _Indy Young hams will be operating a Special event station at the Broadripple Ham fest on August,7th. Stop in and check it out.! -For more info on the Indy Area Young ham activities, check out the IRC webpage under youth programs link. -There will be an Express NO-CODE TECH license Class on April 26,28 & 30 at the Indianapolis training center for New and young potential hams. Health & welfare: -Max Kennedy is out of the hospital and feeling a lot better and also Paul Bohrer has been at 2 meetings and we are glad that he is feeling better, We wish them well. Chief-op update: -Mike Carmer-KB9RBF is going to take an inventory of the Ham gear in the ITC Radio room. Other announcements: -Maria KB9RLG talked about the IRA _ the largest coverage repeater and that the IRA need support to keep the 146.70 and the rest of the repeaters up to date, the IRA has 4 repeaters that cover this area and the 146.625 machine is getting a new repeater controller. With Ham user donations they will be able to update the rest of the repeaters. -Bob Blake -N9FIM announced; There will be a Severe Weather net on Wednesday March 17, 2004 at two separate time the first being from 2 pm to 2:30 the second will be the same day at 7 pm to 7:30 pm on 146.76 so please check in either or both times into the net. -Also remember that there is a Hamfest coming up March 27, 2004 at Columbus IN; it starts at 8 am. . -Mike Sercer- WA9FDO for your info; if you have line trouble that interferes with your radio call him at 261-8993. We are lucky to be the first group to see Taka and John's demo on this new piece of equipment before they demo it at the Dayton Hamvention in May. -The monthly DX contact award was given to Steve Heininger-N9OI for S. Africa. on 20m. This was his 2nd time for this award ; congrats to Steve. -The New monthly QRP contact award for the longest distance was awarded to Steve Wendt- KB9RDS for Japan on 15 meters; congrats to Steve. -Our New DOOR Prize drawing for this month was a 50/50 cash Prize.. winner David- N9KT $31.00. -Next month door prize will be something different, don't miss it!.
